ADHD<\/em><\/mark><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n To pursue an evaluation for ADHD in our office, please take the following steps:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n First discuss your concerns with your primary care doctor within our practice<\/mark>.<\/strong> <\/strong>If indicated they will refer you to Dr. Deborah Marlow-Mejia a Pediatrician in our office who specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of ADHD and related problems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Pick up a set of QUESTIONNAIRES<\/strong> at the front desk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Complete the PARENT FORM<\/strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Give a SCHOOL FORM<\/strong> to your child\u2019s teacher(s) to complete.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Collect the following information (all past and current grades levels)<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n When all of the information is returned to our office, Dr. Marlow-Mejia will review it and our office will contact you to make an appointment for your first consultation. This review process may take several weeks but will be addressed as soon as possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n THE 1ST CONSULTATION IS FOR PARENTS ALONE WITHOUT THE CHILD.<\/strong> If possible, arrange a time when both parents can attend. At this meeting parents can discuss their concerns and any additional information will be considered. Allow 75 to 90 minutes for each consultation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n THE 2ND CONSULTATION IS FOR THE CHILD<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n THE 3RD CONSULTATION IS FOR THE PARENTS ALONE <\/strong>to discuss the full evaluation and consider possible interventions. Whether or not a specific diagnosis of ADHD is made, the problems presented need to be addressed. If further evaluations or treatments from additional Professionals (Psychologist, Educational Therapist, Psychiatrist, etc) are indicated prior to the consideration of medical treatment, then appropriate referrals will be suggested.<\/p>\n\n\n\n **Please note that Dr. Marlow-Mejia is not a member of all insurance programs. Also, some insurance policies specifically do not cover consultations or do not consider ADHD under the same terms as other diagnoses. If your insurance cannot be used for the necessary co<\/p>\n\n\n\n After the three year old exam, physicals are recommended yearly per American Academy of Pediatrics Guidelines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n If desired, infant injections may be obtained at the Public Health Clinic at substantial discount. Most insurance companies require that you add the new baby to your existing policy within 30 days of the baby\u2019s birth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n * Please note that the immunization schedule may be modified by the doctor*<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n nsultations, Dr. Marlow-Mejia can be seen on a fee for service basis or your primary doctor can refer you to outside resources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" ADHD To pursue an evaluation for ADHD in our office, please take the following steps: First discuss your concerns with your primary care doctor within our practice.
